WHAT IS PLAGIARISM ?
An act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM ?
  • Lectures can check it using 'turniting' software
  • Refer to webpage of inQKa

HOW TO PREVENT PLAGIARISM ?
  • Paraphrasing
Express the meaning of (the writer or speaker or something written or spoken) using different words, especially to achieve greater clarity.

Tips to paraphrasing
- Use synonyms
- Retain the meaning
- change passive words to active words or active words to passive words

Example of paraphrasing :
     The essence of life is time
          answer: Time is an essence of life

  • Referencing
Provide (a book or article) with citations of authorities

Tips to referencing
- Citing your source within the text
- Refer to the guidelines
- Make a reference/bibliographies page

WHAT IS GPA ?
- Grade point average
- Calculate by adding up all accumulate final exam grades and dividing that figure by total course hour
- GPA= (credit hours x grade value) 
                   total credit hours

WHAT IS CGPA ?
- Cumulative grade point average
- Calculate by adding up all GPA every semester and dividing that figure by total course hour every semester
- CGPA = total GPA every semester
            total credit hours every semester

WHAT IS iCGPA ?
- Integrated cumulative grade point average
A system or mechanism for assessing and reporting learner's integrated development and learning gains of their ADAB (ethics and values), their declarative and functional knowledge amd their disciplinary skills and technical abilities.

FAILURE AND DISMISSAL STATUS

D1 CGPA less than 1.80
D2 CGPA less than 1.80 with P1 status
D3 CGPA less than 2.00 with P2 status
D4 Failed in a certain courses for the third time
D5 CGPA is less than 2.00 at the end of the maximum period of study and still have courses which have not been completed
D6 Passed all the courses required by a progaramme and fulfilled all the requirements of the programme but acquired a CGPA of less than 2.00
D7 Did not sit for the examinations of all the registered courses for that semester without approval of the University
